Volunteers
Every year, enthusiastic volunteers come together and commit their time to make the Cedars Run for Ovarian Cancer a success. Without the help and support of our volunteers, this event simply would not happen. Volunteers are needed in a variety of areas on site as well as leading up to the event.
There are many ways in which you can help us by becoming a volunteer!
- Food & Drink Stations: Help keep our runners full of energy by becoming a food station volunteer
- Cheer: Help to cheer on the runners along the route
- Registration & Information: Help us to check in all participants and provide them with necessary items and information
- Set-Up and Tear-Down: Help us to set-up the event space and tear it down at the end of the day
Event Day Information
Where to go:
- Danyluk Park in the Town of Mount Royal. You can put the Roosevelt Recreation Centre at 60 Roosevelt Ave in your GPS.
- Parking is available in the many lots surrounding the park or in the streets.
- You should see the tents in the park behind the Recreation Centre.
- Please make your way to the Volunteers tent to check in and get your volunteer identification.
When to arrive:
- Registration/Information/Food services: 7:45 a.m.
- Cheer Volunteers: 8:30 a.m. You will be dropped off around the course starting at 9:00 a.m.
What to wear:
- The dress code is sporty/casual.
- Check the weather forecast and plan accordingly.
- We recommend wearing waterproof footwear, as the grass is often very dewy in the morning.
Cedars is going GREEN! Water refill stations will be on site, so please bring a reusable water bottle. The Cedars Cancer Foundation strongly discourages the use of single-use plastic water bottles.
All volunteers will be given Snack-packs at check-in, but make sure to have breakfast before arriving.
Thank you again for helping support ovarian cancer awareness.
Please contact Shoshana Nuez at (514) 656-6662, ext 228 or shoshana.nuez@cedarscancer.ca to register as a volunteer.
