We play for the cause!
Every dollar we raise will help the Foundation accomplish its mission of improving the health and well-being of paediatric, young adult and adult cancer patients, and their families, throughout and beyond treatment. Together, we are supporting excellence and innovations in clinical care, research, education and supportive care services.
The mission of the Division of Radiation Oncology is to provide compassionate, state-of-the-art, quality radiation treatment to cancer patients while integrating education, laboratory and clinical research, and radiation physics to achieve improved outcomes.
Radiation Oncologists are medical doctors with specialized expertise in using radiotherapy in the treatment of cancer, working together alongside medical physicists and radiation therapists to deliver quality care.
The delivery of radiotherapy treatment to cancer patients requires the coordinated efforts of a team of health care professionals including radiation oncologists, radiation technologists, medical physicists, medical dosimetrists and radiation oncology nurses.
We are always refining radiation oncology treatment methods to deliver the highest-quality patient care possible. Our unmatched range of equipment includes the latest strategies to treat tumors aggressively, while reducing or eliminating some of the side effects that accompany radiation treatment.
The Cedars Cancer Centre, Division of Radiation Oncology is truly state-of-the-art and high-tech with a multimillion-dollar investment in equipment, including seven new linear accelerators, one of which is the Cyberknife M6 that allows for much more precision in radiation therapy, less side effects and less damage to adjacent tissue.
Easing the pain and suffering that cancer causes has guided the Cedars Cancer Foundation since 1966. Decade after decade, we continue to breathe life into our vision by galvanizing our community of donors around our mission, which is to improve the health and well-being of paediatric, young adult and adult cancer patients, and their families, throughout and beyond treatment. We do so by leading philanthropic initiatives that support excellence and innovation in clinical care, research, education and supportive care services.
