Bruce's China Blue Horizon Dragonboat team was established by his family and friends to honour the Legacy of Bruce Shadeed (1951-2024) and to raise vital funds for a cause that was very important to Bruce.
Bruce was a generous, sincere, caring, compassionate, and thoughtful man whose anchor in life was a love for his family - both his own, and the Cedars "family” to which he was inextricably connected and committed to supporting.
Bruce was an active member of the Board of Directors of the Cedars Cancer Foundation for decades and was its Chair from 2010 to 2016. He helped steward the Foundation’s regular fundraising efforts, capital campaigns, signature events, programs, and governance. His leadership, dedication and generosity had a profound impact on cancer patients of all ages and their families
China Blue was the name of Bruce’s beloved sailboat, and we thought it was the perfect name for the dragon boat team we assembled in his honour. We know he’d be delighted to see us out on the water and raising funds for Cedars CanSupport, which was a program he believed in very strongly.
