When I was first diagnosed with Stage 4 ovarian cancer in 2017, I really didn’t know much about the “silent killer”. The amazing staff at the MUHC’s Gynecologic Oncology and General Gynecology Clinic, led by wonder-woman Dr. Lucy Gilbert, became my teachers, healers and miracle-creators. Throughout my battle, I have learned many things, one of the most striking is just how “little” it would take for early detection, how many lives early screening would save and that, like many things, it’s a question of financial support.
I am committed to contributing towards the success of the DOvEEgene project by garnering greater awareness of the disease and raising funds.
And so, once again this year, I am walking to help celebrate ovarian cancer fighters and their miracle-creators, and in memory of fallen sisters as well as of Dr. Kris Jardon, a skilled surgeon and compassionate gynaecologic oncology physician who directly impacted my own life and that of so many other women.
Please join me in making my goal a reality! Every donation matters!
See you on October 15th!
