In April, a close family member was diagnosed with high grade ovarian cancer. After a long and hard fight throughout the summer, she was recently able to finish her last round of chemotherapy.
However, this isn't the case for the majority of women diagnosed with late stage ovarian cancer which is why this year my brother, sister, and I, along with our many supporters, are running and raising money to support the future of diagnostic testing for endometrial and ovarian cancers.
If caught early enough, ovarian cancer is very much treatable. But due to the gap in detection technology, most instances are only caught after progressing to Stage 3 or 4. Improving the outcomes for women affected by this disease will only be possible through funding research for early detection like the DOvEEgene project.
Donating today will help change the fate of the 1/78 women affected by ovarian cancer in their lifetime. Join us this year for a celebration, remembrance, and support of ovarian cancer fighters everywhere. The event benefits the Dagenais Joy-Smith Fund and all proceeds will be directed towards Dr. Lucy Gilbert's DOvEEgene project.
Your support means the world to us and will help change the future of endometrial and ovarian cancer diagnosis!
