Grab your paddles and rally your team for the 20th edition of the BDO Cedars CanSupport Dragon Boat Race!

Join us on Saturday, September 6, 2025, for a fun and energizing day of paddling at the scenic Promenade Père-Marquette in Lachine to raise critical funds for Cedars CanSupport: a vital program at the Cedars Cancer Center that has been providing free psychological, emotional, practical and financial support to MUHC cancer patients and their families for more than 35 years.

Your challenge is to form a team of 20 paddlers, to raise at least $20,000, and to enjoy an exhilarating day of paddling on September 6!

Every dollar you raise helps Cedars CanSupport provide programs and services that improve the quality of life of cancer patients and their families and make their cancer journey just a little bit easier.

A bit of history

Founded in 2006, the BDO Cedars CanSupport Dragon Boat Race had humble beginnings, with just six boats and a few dozen participants. It has since grown considerably. In 2024, it brought out 500 paddlers on 24 boats! We couldn’t do it without the steadfast support of BDO (formerly FL Fuller Landau), which has been the event’s title partner since 2007. BDO’s employees, families and friends have raised nearly $8 million for Cedars CanSupport throughout the years. Nor would it be possible without our many other partners and donors, and of course, without our paddlers and volunteers.

About Cedars CanSupport

Cedars CanSupport is a program funded by the Cedars Cancer Foundation and managed by the MUHC, as part of its Supportive and Palliative Care Division. Since 1989, Cedars CanSupport has helped thousands of MUHC cancer patients and families get through one of the most difficult times of their lives. In partnership with the MUHC healthcare team, our professional staff and trained volunteers provide complementary support programs and services that are evidence-based and specially designed to improve quality of life and wellbeing.

It offers:

- Complementary therapies (including massage therapy, yoga, and meditation), which improve wellbeing and decrease stress
- Peer support groups, which foster sharing, self-discovery, and emotional wellbeing
- A Resource Centre, stocked with information about our programs and services, about cancer and how to live with it, and about resources for cancer patients and caregivers
- Free wigs, hats, and turbans;
- Humanitarian assistance for families in need
