RAIN OR SHINE! IT’S DRAGON TIME!
Ready....Set...Paddles up... Go!
BDO presents the 19th Annual BDO Cedars CanSupport Dragon Boat Race on Saturday, September 7th, 2024 at Promenade Père-Marquette in Lachine, located at 2105 blvd. St-Joseph, Lachine, H8S 2N6.
Together we paddle for cancer patients!
A one-day event staged at the waterfront of Montreal’s scenic Promenade Père-Marquette in Lachine, the BDO Cedars CanSupport Dragon Boat Race brings together the young and young-at-heart, friends, families, cancer patients and advocates, medical professionals, local celebrities, co-workers, corporate sponsors, civic leaders, experienced paddlers, and rookies all in the spirit of fun and fundraising for an important cause. Wherever your boat places, your inclusion in our race puts you on the front line of support for people who are at their most vulnerable.
At a time when the world is looking for signs of hope, we offer a direct connection. We work together with our volunteers and partners as an inspired community, helping those in need. Your participation in our BDO CanSupport Dragon Boat Race puts you on the front line of support for people who are at their most vulnerable.
Cedars CanSupport offers:
When someone is diagnosed with cancer, their entire life changes in an instant. Cedars CanSupport provides cancer patients the support they need every step of the way: from wig fittings to taxi chits & groceries to music therapy, Cedars CanSupport staff are there to help.
Gwen Andrews Nacos, Cedars CanSupport and event founder, affirms that “Until Cedars CanSupport services are offered to every new patient of the MUHC, thus creating a true model of supportive cancer care, my work is not finished”.
Each team will have a maximum of 20 paddlers per dragon boat, led by a team captain, and steered by a professional. Each participant is expected to bring in a minimum of $750 in donations, making the total minimum contribution for each boat $15,000. Fundraising is conducted year-round by the registered teams through social networking, special events, pledges and sponsors.
